La Petite Ourse is a sound and light installation that explores the night as a place of poetic resource, highlighting the gradual loss of our connection with the starry sky.
Seven jagged bells hang above our heads, evoking a certain industrial violence. Their shadows, cast on the ground, create shapes reminiscent of the cosmos. By lingering over them, we can recognize the arrangement of a constellation: Ursa Minor. Thanks to system that analyzes the site in real time, the bells resonate to the rhythm of light pollution, filling the space with their sonic depth.
La Petite Ourse a été réalisée dans le cadre de la Résidence de maîtrise en centre d’artistes à Avatar, soutenue par la Bourse de la Fondation René-Richard de l’Université Laval.
Un projet présenté à EISODE par Artificiel en coproduction avec Avatar.
Triska Sicuranzo Gagné utilise le son, l'électronique, la programmation, la vidéo et la photographie pour déconstruire les perceptions usuelles de notre environnement en inventant des écosystèmes qui imitent, animent ou font écho au réel. Inspiré par la nuit et les météores, son travail actuel gravite autour du concept de dispositif en lien avec les notions de traduction et de sonification.
Artiste de la relève basée à Québec, Triska a notamment présenté ses œuvres lors des événements Québec Musiques Parallèles et Art sonore à l’abbaye (EXEcentrer), ainsi qu'au festival international d’art numérique Ars Electronica 2024.
