La Petite Ourse is a sound and light installation that explores the night as a place of poetic resource, highlighting the gradual loss of our connection with the starry sky.
Seven jagged bells hang above our heads, evoking a certain industrial violence. Their shadows, cast on the ground, create shapes reminiscent of the cosmos. By lingering over them, we can recognize the arrangement of a constellation: Ursa Minor. Thanks to system that analyzes the site in real time, the bells resonate to the rhythm of light pollution, filling the space with their sonic depth.
La Petite Ourse a été réalisée dans le cadre de la Résidence de maîtrise en centre d’artistes à Avatar, soutenue par la Bourse de la Fondation René-Richard de l’Université Laval.

Triska Sicuranzo Gagné uses sound, electronics, programming, video, and photography to deconstruct conventional perceptions of our environment by inventing ecosystems that imitate, animate, or echo reality. Inspired by the night and meteors, her current work revolves around devices developed in relation to translation and sonification.
An emerging artist based in Quebec City, Triska has presented her works at the Québec Musiques Parallèles and Art sonore à l’abbaye (EXEcentrer) events, as well as at the Ars Electronica 2024 international digital art festival.
