This project explores the poetic and performative potential of sleep as a terrain for defining identity and reinterpreting self-knowledge. Having become the apartment of a stranger-sleeper, the exhibition space embodies the ramifications of sleep by transforming itself into the image of a fragmented narrative. Visitors are invited to explore the space and reconstruct the course of an improbable night through the objects and traces of events.
This installation contains videos from a sleep documentation of Éric Forget. His body movements were captured using an infrared camera.

Samuel St-Aubin has been active in the electronic arts since 2002. He has collaborated on the production of work by many artists and collectives in Québec, and in recent years has focused on his own creative practice. An electronics technician, he gives everyday objects a new reality, bringing to his creations a dimension that goes beyond the utilitarian realism of the object. By diverting objects from their original use, he radically changes our relationship to them. With unmistakable precision, his works connect us directly with the poetry of everyday life found in the simplicity of existence.
Working primarily in the performing arts, Éric Forget develops his practice through theatre, dance, circus and multimedia. After several years in theatre, he trained in dance, then returned to theatre, being first and foremost an actor. He has been active in these fields for more than thirty years and has taken part in over 150 shows and productions as an actor, dancer, sound designer and composer, sometimes in several of these roles at once.
