DELPHINE HÉBERT MARCOUX

Quebec City, Quebec

JUNE 07 → JULY 21 2022

In her in situ approach of installation, Delphine Hébert-Marcoux uses recurring materials (perforated panels, mirrors, video capture and projection systems and minimal actions for camera) in order to create a permeable place to the space of the gallery. This project designed in/for EISODE is based on a system of relative interconnections. The videos and other elements are organized such a way as to be updated simultaneously with the temporal and spatial experience of the place. Thus exposed in a real space connected to the space it represents, the video image gives rise to new possibilities of apprehension between virtual and actual.

Delphine Hébert Marcoux works from the presentation space with a recurring lexicon – perforated panels, mirrors, video, performative actions for the camera, sound – whose meaning unfolds differently from one situation to another, from one “idea” to another, according to a system of multiple connections where each aspect folds back on all the others and relaunches them. By materializing our experience of the present and of presence, she seeks to create proposals that complexifies our relationship with the immediate environment in its temporal and spatial components.

Delphine Hébert-Marcoux, who holds a master's degree in visual and media arts from Laval University since 2021, has presented her installations in various contexts, including Mois Multi, Manif d'art, and La chambre blanche in Quebec City.
