JIMMY LAKATOS
Néons is an immersive installation that explores light through an arrangement of fluorescent tubes forming a wall. Each tube produces a unique glow that plays with the wear and tear of time, witness to a dying technology. An interface is made available to the public to explore luminous variations.
The experience of the artwork includes a performative introduction by Anne-Marie Boisvert inspired by the relation between cosmic time and light.
Anne-Marie Boisvert performs for contemporary dance choreographers on the Canadian and European stages. As an artist, her approach interweaves dance, performance and installation, favoring interdisciplinary collaborations. A Quebecer, she has lived in the Paris region for around twenty years.
Jimmy Lakatos is a digital art and multimedia designer. He has presented his installations in numerous contexts: Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, Musée de la civilisation de Québec, Musée Pop de Trois- Rivières, Planétarium de Montréal, etc. Based in Montreal, he works in the performing arts field both nationally and internationally.
