2025
The 2025 edition of Juin Génératif will focus on the contribution of computer formalization to artistic creation.
A priori, the world of computing seems to be opposed to that of art. Nevertheless, this technological instrument is inviting itself into contemporary artistic creation to enrich it with a new depth.
Computer formalization corresponds to the transformation of creative intuition into codified syntax. This process begins with the reduction of perceptual and aesthetic elements into abstract systems: algorithmic structures, statistical models, generative data, interactive diagrams and so on. This passage opens up a space where art can flourish in a dynamic relationship between the rigor of symbols and the unpredictability of the imagination. Far from reducing the artist to a mere technician, computer programming offers powerful tools for renewing artistic practices.
The contribution of computer formalization to creation thus lies in its ability to push back the boundaries of the possible, open up new aesthetic horizons and nurture an art form where logic and poetry meet.
