A look back at the DISMANTLING of RÉANIMATION ARTIFICIELLE by PHILIPPE ALLARD on May 26, 2022.
The very first exhibition at EISODE is over!
During the 6 weeks of presentation, many visitors took the time to coexist with the installation as part of an self-led experience; their attention was naturally drawned to the hypnotic movement, light and rhythm of the airbags. Those who chose the guided experience took advantage of Réanimation artificielle cozy atmosphere to share a tea with Line Nault and discuss the details and entirety of the artwork.
The dismantling took place in a very lively atmosphere! The participants had fun handling the airbags while helping Philippe dismantle his installation. We even had the opportunity to welcome Delphine Hébert-Marcoux who arrived from Québec with her perforated panels to begin her in situ creation residence at EISODE. The sense of community was pleasantly palpable as one artist gradually left the space to let the other settle into it.

A look back at the MEDITATION activity organized in collaboration with the Montreal Zen Center on April 28 and May 5, 2022.
Walk, sit, observe, listen, breathe, drink tea, discuss.
Line Nault invites members of the Zen Center to take their place within the installation. Together, they experience the practice of zazen in relation to Réanimation artificielle by Philippe Allard. An experience based on breathing.
All around them, the airbags activate, inflate and deflate, turn on and off. These twenty-three bags each have their own color, light and breath; they are unique and unity. The air that enters and exits the bags is reminiscent of our own breathing. The movement of the body travels and is part of a vast space.
When the session is over, participants share a tea and discuss their experience. Here is an excerpt from their exchange:

18 years after presenting the sonic bulbs at "6281", where artificiel and Pascale Malaterre invited you to visit an artwork displayed in an apartment, we are coming back with a gallery concept that minimizes the usual stigmata of presentation. This new effort is called EISODE.
The eisode — gate by which the power comes in — is the historical precursor of the cathode; an important element of electromagnetism.
This time, rather than mailing 200 keys and hoping no one sets the house on fire, we propose a reservation system allowing you to visit the gallery in total privacy for an hour. The place is located in Ahuntsic, above the artificiel studio.
This concept of private visit was developed to optimize the reception of the artworks, since EISODE presents generative installations which require meticulous attention from the viewer and therefore a significant time of experience. We also only present solo works in order to evacuate any form of visual, sound or conceptual contamination.
EISODE offers a guided formula where the host welcomes you with a tea specially chosen for the exhibition. In this calm setting, your attention will be guided to certain aspects of the installation in order to inspire a lively artistic experience.
The first exhibition starts today! RÉANIMATION ARTIFICIELLE by PHILIPPE ALLARD is presented from April 16 to May 26, 2022.
It is an artwork made of airbags.
There is no vernissage at EISODE – because the installations that we present do not go well with the noisy setting of openings – we therefore invite you to the dismantling! Come and chat with the artist as he dismantles his artwork. It is recommended to have experienced the artwork beforehand.
